Boiler & Heating Engineer
Serving Kent
From our Covent Garden base we cover North and West Kent regularly — Bromley, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Dartford, Gravesend and the Medway towns — for boiler installations, repairs, servicing, Landlord CP12 and complete central heating work.
Working in Kent,
not just passing through.
Kent's housing stock spans four centuries — genuine Tudor and Victorian properties in the villages, solid inter-war semis across Bromley and Bexley, and large modern estates around Ebbsfleet, Kings Hill and Ashford. Each generation of building was designed for a different heating system, so like-for-like boiler swaps rarely give the best result. A proper assessment matters.
We work regularly along the A2, A20, M20 and M25 corridors — Bromley, Orpington, Sidcup, Dartford, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and the Medway towns are on our routine route. Kent landlords with London-facing buy-to-lets use us for combined CP12 rounds; homeowners use us for full system upgrades and unvented cylinder installations.
As with every job we take on, Ian Fisher — Gas Safe 952303 — personally attends. There is no call-centre triage and no anonymous engineer arriving in an unmarked van.

What we see
most often in Kent.
Kent properties see a specific mix of heating faults, driven by hard water, coastal exposure and a wide range of building ages.
Hard-water scaling in heat exchangers
Much of Kent sits on chalk, so mains water is genuinely hard. Combi boiler heat exchangers scale up quickly without a scale reducer on the cold feed, causing whistling, poor hot-water flow and premature failure. We fit inhibitor and scale-reduction kits as standard on new installs.
Ageing back-boilers in 1960s–70s housing
Many Bromley, Bexley and Medway properties still run original back-boilers behind gas fires. These are typically 40–55% efficient at best. Replacement with a modern condensing combi or system boiler usually cuts gas bills sharply and frees up the chimney breast.
Frost damage on exposed pipework
Rural and semi-rural Kent properties often have external condensate runs, outbuilding pipework and loft tanks that freeze in cold snaps. Correct lagging, condensate re-routing and, where needed, upgraded loft insulation prevents burst-pipe calls in January.
Unvented cylinder upgrades on older stock
Removing an old gravity-fed tank in the loft and installing a mains-pressure unvented cylinder transforms shower performance in period Kent homes — but requires G3 certification and correctly sized expansion vessels. We are G3 qualified.
Landlord CP12 season across the commuter belt
Landlords with rentals in Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and along the Medway line often batch CP12 renewals in the summer void period. We can coordinate multiple properties on a single visit day.

Do you cover all of Kent?
We regularly cover North and West Kent — BR, DA, TN, ME and closer parts of CT. For deeper Kent (Canterbury, Folkestone, Dover) we take on scheduled installation and servicing work by appointment.
How fast can you reach a Kent property?
Bromley, Dartford, Orpington and Sevenoaks are usually next-day for urgent faults. Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and the Medway towns are typically 48 hours for boiler breakdowns.
What does a boiler installation typically cost in Kent?
Boiler installations in Kent are quoted in writing after an on-site assessment — we don't give phone-quote figures because the flue route, gas-supply size, controls, filter and cylinder work all affect price. Labour is charged at £90/hr Mon–Fri 8am–5pm on hourly work and £150/hr out-of-hours; installations are usually a fixed price against the written estimate. No VAT is currently charged.
Do you offer emergency call-outs in Kent?
Yes — out-of-hours cover is available in Kent, charged at £150/hr. For genuine emergencies (gas leaks, no heat with vulnerable occupants) call 07801 550790 directly and Ian will advise on response time.
Do you provide a written estimate before starting work in Kent?
Always. For installations and larger jobs we assess on site, then send a written fixed-price estimate. Nothing starts until you've accepted it in writing.
Is the work guaranteed in Kent?
Yes. Every job carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee. On new boiler installations, manufacturer warranties are typically 7–10 years, subject to annual servicing.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes — Gas Safe Register number 952303. Every gas job in Kent is carried out and certified by a registered engineer, and our number appears on every certificate.
Do you subcontract work in Kent?
No. Ian Fisher, the owner, personally carries out or supervises every job in Kent. One point of contact from first call to twelve-month follow-up.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer and card payments are both accepted for jobs in Kent. No VAT is currently charged.
Fixed price. Gas Safe.
12-month guarantee.
Free estimates from Ian directly across Kent — no call centre, no subcontractors, no surprise bills. Same engineer from first call to twelve-month follow-up.
