Look closely at the pipework and you will see what we care about. Copper runs are set out square and clipped properly rather than bent around obstacles. Isolation valves are fitted where a future engineer can actually reach them. Boiler tails are kept tidy, condensate is routed to fall correctly, and every sealed system gets a magnetic filter on the return so magnetite never gets a second chance to block a heat exchanger. Good-looking pipework is not vanity — it is the visible evidence that the gas rate, flue route, system volume and flow rate were all thought about before a single hole was drilled.

Several photos deliberately show the ugly side of the trade: corroded flues, rusted cylinder connections, black sludge drained from a radiator, thermal images with cold spots halfway up a panel, ceiling damage from an undetected leak, and open-vented loft tanks well past their service life. Those images matter as much as the finished installs, because they are what we find on survey — and finding them before quoting is the reason our fixed prices stay fixed.

The work spans the full range of the housing stock in this part of London: 1930s bay-fronted semis on small-bore pipework, Arts-and-Crafts cottages with solid walls and tight service voids, ex-local-authority flats with shared risers, and larger extended detached homes where a system boiler and an unvented cylinder outperform any combi. Ian is Gas Safe registered (952303), ACS qualified, G3 certified for unvented hot water and holds NVQ Level 3, so cylinder and gas work is designed, installed and certified by the same person.

Every installation is backed by a written fixed-price estimate before work begins, a 12-month workmanship guarantee, and manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years where the boiler is serviced annually. Commissioning paperwork, Building Regulations notification and any Gas Safe or G3 certification are issued on completion — not chased weeks later.
