Terms & Conditions

"We", "us" and "our" refer to Chelsea Plumbing & Heating Co., operated by Ian Fisher, based at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, Gas Safe Register 952303. "You" refers to the customer engaging us to carry out work.

For installations and larger works we provide a written estimate following an on-site or detailed remote assessment. The estimate states the scope, price, expected timeline, warranty and Gas Safe registration. Estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Phone or email figures given before a proper assessment are indicative only and do not constitute a fixed quotation.

• Standard hourly rate (Mon–Fri 8am–5pm): £90/hr.
• Out-of-hours and emergency rate: £150/hr.
• Installations and larger works: fixed-price against the written estimate.
• VAT: not currently charged.

Work that falls outside the scope of the written estimate — for example additional faults uncovered on inspection — will be quoted separately and only carried out with your agreement.

Payment is due on completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted methods: bank transfer and card. For larger installations a stage payment schedule may be agreed in the written estimate.

All work carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee from the date of completion. If any defect in our workmanship arises within that period, we will return and rectify it at no cost to you.

The workmanship guarantee does not cover: fair wear and tear, damage caused by third parties, misuse, failure to service appliances as required by the manufacturer, alterations made by others, or issues caused by pre-existing conditions in the property that were disclosed in writing prior to work.

New boilers are covered by the manufacturer's warranty (typically 7–10 years depending on model). Manufacturer warranties are conditional on annual servicing and correct system installation (including inhibitor and, where required, magnetic filter and scale reducer). We will register the warranty on your behalf and provide documentation.

All gas work is carried out under Gas Safe Register 952303. Where we are commissioned to issue a Landlord Gas Safety Record (CP12), it is provided digitally on the day of the inspection. If any appliance is deemed Immediately Dangerous or At Risk under the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure (GIUSP), we will notify you and — where legally required — disconnect the appliance.

You are responsible for providing reasonable access, working water and electrical supplies, and for informing us of any known hazards (asbestos, structural issues, restrictive freeholder terms). If work is delayed by access or site issues, additional time may be chargeable at our standard rates.

You may cancel a scheduled booking at any time. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may attract a nominal call-out fee to cover reserved time. Once installation work has begun, materials already ordered or fitted will be chargeable in the event of cancellation.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You have a statutory right to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out under the relevant estimate, except where the law requires otherwise (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence). We hold public liability insurance; the current cover level can be confirmed on request in writing.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
